  4. YouTube Videos (Extended-Privacy Mode)
We embed YouTube videos on the Website to demonstrate our products that are hosted by the YouTube in the USA, YouTube being a subsidiary of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The videos are embedded using the so-called Extended Privacy option (information on that is available here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780?hl=de). With this option activated, cookies are only set on your device, and your personal data is only collected when you click on the video.
If after said first click you click on any YouTube video embedded on the Website, Google stores in the mentioned cookie an abundance of data (e.g. device-based information, logfiles, location-based information, application identifiers, and visits of websites using Google advertising services) and processes it e.g. for the provision and maintenance of the services, development of new services, and provision of customized content (advertisements and search results). 5. Google Analytics

Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Website. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.
You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. 6. Google Maps
This Website embeds maps using the Google Maps API run by Google LLC (address as mentioned above) in order to visualize geographic information. When visiting web pages with embedded Google Maps, your geolocation is collected and transmitted to a Google server in the USA in order to display route options to certain locations. Further information on the data processed in doing so is available in Google’s Privacy Policy on Google Maps (https://www.google.com/intl/en_en/help/terms_maps/). In Google’s Privacy options you can alter your settings in order to prevent the collection of said data. Legal basis for the use of Google Maps is our interest in showing you where our events are located (art. 6 para 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR).

Revision Attendance

When attending our Revision events, the following processes regarding your personal data may be relevant for you.

  1. Documentation
We take several measures to document the Revision events and show to the world how awesome Revision is. In the following we enumerate the ways in which we do that, and what channels we use to do it. The legal basis of lawfulness for all these measures is our legitimate interest in documenting and marketing the Revision event series and our efforts as an association to promote the Demoscene according to art. 6 para 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR.
At Revision’s current size it is impossible to make 100% sure that you won’t show up on any documentation listed in the following. However, if you are seriously concerned about your privacy and prefer not to show up, your best bet is to both keep your visual appearance low and approach the organizing team and let them know by providing them with your name, handle and a clear picture of you. We will do our best to keep any close-up shots of you out of the Revision documentation that is published. If you happen to be unhappy about certain footage of you afterwards, we’ll do our best to remove it from online media.
    1. Photography
We have a photographer (Viscid) running around and taking photos of the event and its attendants. This includes portraits of single people and groups. These photographs may be published on our Website and used for follow-up reports in digital and analog form (e.g. for the yearly Revision brochure that we hand out to Revision attendants and to potential sponsors to encourage them to sponsor Revision, and that we offer for download on our Website).
What we said about how to avoid having your personal data processed applies especially the photography.
    2. Video Feeds
At the Revision location there are various cameras attached to fixed points and mobile cameras moved by our fellow organizers, and both types of cameras film the event to portray a hopefully accurate impression of it.
      1. The fixed cameras film mostly overviews of the hall that don’t allow the identification of individuals but focus on the overall atmosphere, people walking around the hall, standing at the bar, going outside or coming back in etc. Here’s a map of the locations of all fixed cameras so that you can avoid being caught on them as far as possible.
      2. Also, i.e. for special events, we send out certain organizers with mobile cameras to document the respective event. For information on why and how we use this video footage, refer to the following sections.
    3. Live Stream on Twitch
As many Demosceners and fans of the Demoscene cannot make it to Revision, and as we want to spread the word on how awesome the Demoscene is, we live-stream Revision on the Internet. For this we choose one or several sources of video at any given time and stream it on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/). Most of the time this live stream will show the currently happening shows on a stage, including the second stage where usually DJs play, or show feeds of the fixed cameras that hardly allow identification of individuals. It is, however, possible that you as an individual are recognizable on the stream.
If you prefer not to be identified on the live stream, please stay away from any location where anything of interest is currently happening, i.e. the main and second stage.
    4. Seminar Videos
At Revision we host seminars on various topics and record all seminars for later publication on our Website, YouTube and/or other platforms for long-lasting availability of the knowledge shared at Revision. These videos feature mainly the speaker and may show the audience from behind. Identification of individuals in the audience is theoretically possible but unlikely. If you want to make sure you’re not caught on seminar video footage, avoid turning around towards the cameras.
    5. Attendance in Focus Events
Certain events, i.e. the ones happening on either of the Revision stages, deserve special attention. That’s why we record these events, meaning basically anything happening on stage, e.g. compos, Opening or Prizegiving Ceremonies, Shader Showdowns, the Meteoriks awards show, live acts, DJs playing etc., and special events happening elsewhere, e.g. the 5K Run and our sponsors’ live streams (“Focus Events”). This footage we may publish on our Website, YouTube or other platforms after the event is over.
If you prefer not to be part of the documentation of the Focus Events, please stay away from the locations of interest during the mentioned events, e.g. don’t come up on stage, don’t dance right in front of the DJ desk, don’t partake in the 5K Run, etc.
  2. Photo Wall
Near the Info Desk at the entrance, we have the Photo Wall set up. With this Photo Wall you can take photos of yourself and your friends. These photos are going to be published on our Website for documentation purposes. The use of the Photo Wall is, of course, completely voluntary. If you don’t want to be part of it, just don’t use it.
  3. Social Media Posts
Before, during and after each Revision event, we publish photos and links to videos of the event on various social media platforms, i.e. Facebook, Twitter
  4. User Account in Partymeister
We use a system called “Partymeister” to administer basically all content involved in organizing Revision. Part of this system is a user account area where any Revision attendant can (and has to in order to interact with the Revision entries) create a user account, upload and administer their entries to the Revision competitions, and vote for any entries in any of the competitions. You can indicate any pseudonym for your chosen user account and use the system without limitations. We merely need a unique identifier for your interactions with entries to be relatable to a specific user.
  5. Competing
While voting for any compos is possible with your chosen pseudonym, participating in the competitions is only possible if you indicate your real name and correct address with any entry to the competitions (you are asked for all this in Partymeister when you upload entries). We need this information for accounting and copyright purposes. If you win a prize with your entry you will be asked to come to the stage during the Prizegiving ceremony but if you prefer not to be filmed for this, don’t come to the stage but approach us afterwards to be handed out your prize(s).

All data mentioned in this chapter is archived for indefinite time unless you ask us to remove your personal data, and we are not obliged to store it to comply with legal obligations.
